Dr. Steve Bibevski
Dr Bibevski was born to Macedonian parents in Melbourne Australia, but has lived most of his adult life in the United States. His father, Boris Bibevski was born in the Prespa-Pelagonia region of Macedonia and like many of his generation who left the country for economic prosperity abroad, maintained very fond memories of the country and taught his sons much about its history and natural beauty. Boris instilled in them a respect for the environment, animals and sustainability, so when Steve visited the country as an adult for the first time, it all came together. The opportunity to make a huge impact in a country with so much natural beauty and on the cusp of economic prosperity, the seeds for formal efforts to guide the development were planted. Now with multiple projects already in place and with so much support from within Macedonia, the Bibevski foundation, named after his father, has fast become a shining light in the Prespa-Pelagonia region. Dr Bibevski’s hope is that the success of this project in Macedonia will act as a model for so many other countries in a similar position.
